in Delphi Books :: There are not so many Delphi books being published recently - so when one gets to the print - you should not miss it!

The Delphi XE2 Foundations by Chris Rolliston documents the foundations of Embarcadero Delphi XE 2 development, providing a detailed and up-to-date reference and conceptual overview of the language and wider runtime library.

Even if you are still on some old version of Delphi, you should be interested as the book takes you through the language and the RTL, covering older and newer features alongside each other. Consequently, one chapter tackles string handling, another streams and so on. If you are an experienced Delphi user, the earlier chapters may not be so interesting while the later ones (which include coverage of OS X support at the RTL level and the newer multithreading primitives).

This is one of the best Delphi books I’ve ever read, and I’ve been using and reading about Delphi since Turbo-Pascal! Chris – Add a chapter about Live Bindings in the next edition – please! Brian.

Hi all,

I bought the Kindle version. The font was not set up correctly, so i had to push up the pitch to max just to be able to view it.

It was so bad, in the end I asked for a refund. :-(

I hope they fix it soon, I would really like to read this book!

Johan

Nothing special about XE2: Just a very basic Delphi book, XE2 “in name only”
