Architect - "is your evolution for the .NET revolution. Simplify your move to .NET today with Delphi language RAD development for the Microsoft .NET Framework, including VCL Forms, Windows® Forms, ASP.NET, Web Forms, Web Services, ADO.NET, and more."
Enterprise - "for teams building enterprise-class database applications with ADO.NET, Delphi 8 delivers native support and flexible integration for major enterprise-class databases."
Professional - "ideal for individuals building Web and GUI applications for .NET, developers can immediately use their existing Delphi language and framework skills to build true .NET and ASP.NET applications that can also interoperate with other .NET languages and Web Services"
Of course, every "bigger" version includes all the features of the "smaller" one.
"Evolution to the .NET revolution"
Delphi 8 enables building 100% pure .Net applications, including Windows Forms, Asp.net WebForms and Web Services. Delphi 8 will eases the process of migrating standard Delphi Windows application (that use VCL) to .Net applications using the *new* VCL for .Net components library. Yes, would you believe that? You can compile your "old" Win32 applications to .NET right now.
What's more, developers who have versions prior to Delphi 7 will receive a comparable version of Delphi 7 with the purchase of Delphi 8.
Delphi 8 includes both design and development support for both Microsoft .NET Windows Forms and
Delphi VCL forms and controls. VCL for the Microsoft .NET Framework is a set of standard VCL controls that
helps make transitioning Delphi skills and source code to .NET even easier.
