Delphi Developer's Guide to XML is aimed at developers with a working knowledge of Delphi who are interested in learning about XML and its related technologies. The book covers all aspects of utilizing the power of XML through the Delphi environment. XML standard lets you create language and operating system independent documents that contain self-describing data.

In more than 25 chapters, the author discusses introductory XML concepts; the document object model (DOM); simple API form XML and generating XML programmatically. The book closes with a section that explores the development of some applications that make use XML.
Part I introduces XML to the reader; the syntax and structure of an XML document is described, along with the corresponding document type definition. The XSLT XML-transformation language and XLink XML-linking language are also discussed. Part II provides an in-depth coverage of the Document Object Model (DOM) includes investigation of the basic specification and three implementations: Microsoft's DOM, CUESoft's DOM, and Open XML's DOM. Part III examines the simple API for XML - SAX. Both Microsoft's version and a native Delphi implementation are described. Part IV points out that XML is really data that can be easily generated from a database and then delivered across the Internet with Delphi's Web modules. Last part of the book covers development of applications that make use of XML, including SOAP and XSKT examples.

At the end, Delphi Developer's Guide to XML provides a solid introduction to the technologies that make up XML and its related specifications. For the most part, the author provides credible explanations of complex technologies.

The CD includes the relevant specifications regarding XML, along with all the code from the book and various XML tools.
