Celebrating 10 Delphi Years
Remmie Azavedo wins the "Delphi for .Net Developers Guide" book!

By Zarko Gajic, About.com

I guess we all know what is Delphi? A development environment from Borland, that in its last incarnation provides a developer with cross platform development support for Win32 and .NET.

Delphi 1.0 (back in the 1995 it carried a code name: Delphi 95) was released at the 1995 Software Developers Conference. The rest is history. An article "Delphi history – from Turbo Pascal to Delphi 2005" provides concise descriptions of Delphi versions and its history, along with a brief list of features and notes.

Win a Delphi book!

In order to show our continued support for Delphi (and celebrate the 10th Delphi birthday), we've prepared a simple contest/game. Everyone can take a part:

The rules are simple:

  1. Guess the number of the original Delphi programming articles (including tutorials and tips) on this site.
  2. Email your number to Zarko Gajic.
  3. One developer with the closest guess (to the exact number) will win a copy of "Delphi for .NET developers Guide"
  4. NOTE: an entry that misses the number by more than 20% is not valid (will not be included in the final list of possible winners).
  5. The game ends 31/03/2005
Hint: the list of all the articles, tips and tutorials can found here:

Happy birthday Delphi!

And the Book Goes to...

Remmie Azavedo had the closest guess! The correct number of the original Delphi related articles on this site, written by Zarko Gajic (Delphi Guide) on 02/28/2005 was 1105. Rammie's guess was 1095.
Congratulations Remmie!
